I didn’t stay because I was weak. I stayed because I loved deeply. Because I believed in potential. Because I saw the good and held onto it longer than I should have. Because I thought if I just gave a little more, understood a little better, waited a little longer, it would finally feel the way I knew it could.
But love shouldn’t feel like something you have to earn. And it shouldn’t require you to lose yourself to keep it. That’s the part I had to learn the hard way. Leaving wasn’t about giving up. It was about finally choosing me.
And that shift changed everything.
If you’ve ever asked yourself why you stayed, be gentle with that version of you. She wasn’t weak. She was hopeful. And now she’s learning how to choose peace instead. 💛
Some of what I walked through and how I came back to myself is in my book There Is No Place Like You. Join the Journey: join.michele-natale.com
