The feeling came back. The pattern didn’t change.

Before you go back, pause. Not to overthink. To remember.

Remember how it felt when you weren’t in the high. When things were unclear. When your stomach dropped. When you had to explain yourself just to feel okay again. 

Remember the version of you that was tired. The one who stayed too long. The one who kept trying to make it make sense. Now look at what’s pulling you back. Is it consistency? Or a moment?

The feeling came back. The pattern didn’t change.

Because a moment can feel like everything, when you’ve been deprived of it. But a moment isn’t a pattern. And a pattern is what you lived in. So before you answer, before you respond, before you go back. Ask yourself.

Did the pattern change? Or did the feeling just come back? You didn’t leave because you didn’t care. You left because it kept costing you yourself. Don’t forget that part.
