Healing isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes it’s hard conversations. Tears. Exhaustion. Not knowing what tomorrow will look like.
For a long time, I thought love meant sacrificing myself to keep the peace. But something shifted when I stopped abandoning me.
My new standard wasn’t punishment. It wasn’t walls. It wasn’t making someone earn my love. It was finally believing I deserved honesty, respect, accountability and peace.
And strangely enough, that shift brought healing. Not because I changed someone.
But because I changed what I was willing to participate in. I’m learning that love and boundaries were never enemies. Maybe they were partners all along. Healing began when I raised my standards.
